About LMS

Lowcountry Montessori School (LMS) is a K - 12 free, nonprofit, state-chartered public school which opened in Beaufort County in August 2014 and provides an authentic Montessori-based program to students from Beaufort and surrounding counties. We serve PreK 3 and 4 students through a fee-based program. Because we are state-chartered, students from all counties in South Carolina are eligible to attend.

Upcoming Events:​​​​

  • Tours are on hold for now. To see what Montessori Classrooms are like click HERE.

  • New Front Office Hours are M, Tu, Th, and F 8-11 am, Wednesday 7am -6pm

  • To minimize any contact, items for families to pick up or drop off will be left on the porch, as arranged with the office.  Utilization of the mailbox on the front porch will also be a means of drop off.

  • LMS began the 20-21 school year Virtually on August 17th.

  • Upcoming Testing:

    • October 14th- PSAT/NMSQT- all 10th graders 

    • October 20th, 22nd, and 23rd- CogAT and IOWA testing- all 2nd graders

    • October 22nd- R2W/Career Readiness Testing- all 12th graders

    • STAR Assessments the week of 11/16 - 20 and make-ups 11/30 - 12/3.
